Wilbers shock type 641 with external Reservoir Yamaha XT660R and XT660X models

The upper body is milled from solid aluminium. At maximum compression speed an additional pressure relief valve ensures that the shock absorber does not block and thus can introduce uncontrolled shocks into the chassis.
With this shock absorber, the expansion tank is attached to a steel flex line. This makes it the ideal alternative for road bikes with space problems. The flexible hose allows the reservoir to be mounted where there is space - e.g. at the rear of the frame, where air currents from the airstream provide cooling. The adjustment knobs for the low and high-speed range of the compression damping, each adjustable in 22 steps, are also easily accessible from the outside. The rebound damping can be adjusted 22 times and the spring base continuously by means of an open bleed system.
